Entering the upper room, they were anxious for the next step! So much has transpired and now is time for transformation? Each heart would beat with expectation as they pictured their long- awaited dreams at last, coming true!

One of my favorite authors stated, there was strife among them, which of them would be accounted the greatest? They had clung to their favorite idea that Christ would assert His power and take His position on the throne of David. And in their hearts, each still longed for the highest place in the kingdom.

This atmosphere greatly saddened the Lord who desired to share so much with them, knowing that soon He would be going to the cross, soon each of them would betray Him and soon He would die for each of them! Even carrying these heavy burdens, He choose to wash each one’s feet, a most humbling act, puzzling these confused followers. Truly a servant of servants!

Where do we fit into this incredibly emotion-filled setting? How long have we known the Lord and what are our expectations? What do our three and a half years look like? Are we challenged with humility? Am I sure of what I believe and live ready to make His love visible wherever I go, even in my own home with my own family?

And now the really hard question, am I ready to die for my brother or sister? If you hesitate as I do, what is the next step? How do we prepare and how much time will it take? Three and a half years living with Jesus, seeing the miracles up close, learning from His multiple examples and listening to His voice filled with love and power, was not enough for his disciples. What did it take for them? What will it take you and me?

Looking at Acts 2…The apostles first devoted themselves to prayer. What is your prayer life like? Seek ye first the Kingdom. Matt. 6:33. Bible study. The apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit. In one accord with more prayer! Then they, living in complete surrender to the Lord of their lives, prepared to die rather than sin, and preached the Good News with power from on High! And about three thousand cried out, “what must we do to be saved”?!!!

Friends, the ground is level at the foot of the cross! With God all things are possible. Luke 1:37 Welcome to a different “three- and one-half years” your turn! This time, your choice will be getting to know Jesus through prayer, Bible study, service to others, no matter who they are, the Truth that sets one free, and sacrifice with your eyes fixed on the Author and finisher of your faith, seeking Him first!

And Grace Abounds Ministries stands ready to join you in prayer and dedication to the One who is love! The One who has never lost a battle and can do anything but fail! Welcome to victory!

Remember we are faith-based so your prayers and donations, no matter how small, keep this ship in the water! Regular giving is especially helpful. 2025 promises exciting pathways leading upward, only upward! “And moreover, the law entered that the offense might abound ( made clearer so that there would be a great desire to stop sinning), but where sin abounds, grace does much more abound” Romans 5:20 Until next time……
