Unbelievable! Dad had died! How can we go on his wife cried out deep down inside. But She must be strong for her young son and daughter. Knowing God was her only hope, she found strength for the days ahead! (Jer. 33:3) Struggling, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially it was at if this little family was holding on to a thread hanging over a giant cavern! Refusing to let go of that thread, the mother continued to pray specifically for her children! (Luke 1:37) Grief-stricken, the young boy was unusually quiet, missing the special times with his dad. Days turned into weeks, and then one day without warning, her son asked if they could go out to eat! Immediately she thought, we have no money for this! On its heels was another thought, he is talking, we must! As they left the house the mother felt a sense of peace and was able to find an inexpensive sandwich shop with options of eating inside or at small tables out in the fresh air. They chose the inside and after prayer began to eat when suddenly her son said with energy, “look at that poor man with a bicycle, a bag and the torn clothing”. Hardly taking a breath he added, “ mother can we buy him a sandwich and a drink”? (Matt. 25:46) Whispering a quick prayer, mother ordered, and they were soon outside eating with the stranger. As they talked the man, obviously very sad, shared that his wife has died and later his daughter after a long illness. So, he had sold his home to pay the hospital bills, then quit his good paying job. Feeling overwhelmed he had almost given up on life. The family listened intently with concern. The gentleman seemed surprised at the outward display of care by those sitting around him. His eyes brightened as they ate and talked together. Soon he was gone. (Luke 6:38) Years passed when one day a man entered a little restaurant where that once little boy, now grown up was working. The gentleman ordered a sandwich and a drink and asked the young man if he would sit with him. Stunned the young man hesitantly said alright since I am getting off now. The man shared that he was that stranger with the bicycle befriended by a special family so many years ago! And how hope had returned because of their giving. He now wanted to give back! And he did so! Assisting the financially struggling family he enabled the mother to finish nursing school and helped the children with college Expenses! Jer. 29:11-13 Thanksliving/giving could this be the only way to live? We at Grace Abounds Ministries, pray that you will choose this kind of living, for we cannot out give our Lord! (Ps. 92:1) We continue to pray for each of you and ask that Thanksgiving, recently celebrated, was a reminder of Him who lived to give! Giving not just to GAM, but to those around you. Little becomes much in the Master’s hands! (John 6:10-13) GAM needs: monthly donations are especially helpful in meeting expenses. Small to large amounts ( 5, 10, 20 dollars or more) are all a blessing for the website, inspiration notes and 2023 projects coming up! Below is the Website.
