Jeremiah 29:11-13 Would I live? The temptation to breathe was overwhelming, but I dare not! I was trapped under a marine-sized raft in the middle of rapids with no way out, I thought. After a miraculous chain of events, I found myself above the water and even though in shock, able to breathe! Little did I know that many years later this harrowing encounter with the edge of death would help me to understand the feeling many COVID-19 patients face as they fight to breathe! His plan was that I live and, even though overwhelmingly sad, this is not the plan for everyone here, but it is the plan…eternity!! In 2 Peter 3:9 the scripture tells us that He is willing that none should perish…and He has promised to never leave nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5). And since His promises are true, every person who has closed their eyes in this COVID 19 crises, has not died alone ! What a wonderful and amazing reality! I have referred to this before. We serve a merciful God who loves us so much that He sent His only son to die for each of us while we were yet in the other camp! As this crisis diminishes and intensifies, God stays the same..Heb. 13:8 He does not change! Hence, hope and strength. And no matter what happens as we trust in Him…it is not all over! Until next time remember the good news…where sin abounds, grace does much more abound! Rom. 5:20
