It had been a long journey for me punctuated with struggles, disappointments, beauty, and growth, but the day was at last drawing near. And just as 2024 has no doubt already been fraught with unforeseen surprises for you, a new life can be just ahead. Leaving the East Coast and driving back to the Midwest was a challenge. Once arriving in a new city, finding a place to live, picking up the pieces after my parked car was hit by an underaged drinking driver and studying new Bible truths at times seemed overwhelming. Yet, amid it all, I was being made new!! Finally, after months of living with a friend, God helped my roommate and I find an apartment and I was able to replace another friend’s sewing machine that was destroyed in the accident. Finding transportation to my new job while my car was being repaired was not easy, but some arrangements were made. Darkness becoming light so I could begin to see just ahead, however faith was still in order! Heb. 11:1 And for you, no matter what life throws your way here in 2024, it will make sense as you look to Him who makes Sense!! It is just ahead! Whether bills from the holidays, more then you thought, your car requires unexpected repairs, sudden loss of your job, death in the family, marital difficulties, or your child decides to leave home, He is right there making a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the dessert! Is. 43:19 Totally impossible realities, but not with Him! For with Him all things are possible! Luke 1:37. But as in life, there are unexpected curves and mountainous terrain! It was winter as we settled into the new apartment then we discovered there were heating issues! Hair dryers helped at the outset, but we needed real heat! After a number of phone calls the required repairs were made. Transportation issues then dotted the horizon. Thinking I was making progress and closing in on the journey’s end, this was not so. Questions continued to fill my heart as I had made appointment after appointment with varied church leaders asking for answers that would satisfy my soul. “God,” I cried out as I continued the journey, “ I cannot see ahead”! Faith was the bridge that was making it possible for me to cross this abyss! What will happen, I thought. At times, the bridge was swinging and the fog growing thick. The light seemed to be growing dim! What is happening? Where is the light so desperately needed? Part 2 will reveal the path. Stay with us and see!
