Love in tight places – Part 3 It was to be this family’s last trip! They would never be together again! The year 1944, the family, the Ten Booms. You may have heard of or seen the story of this family. They made a collective decision, at any cost, to help save the lives of many who were being hunted and imprisoned due to their culture. Fast forward to the 2020’s and there were no doubt families who, even though for different reasons, knowingly or unknowingly were together for the last time. The reality of leaving, never to be together again, is riddled with grief and hopelessness. Centuries ago there was another story of a family-like group that also had to prepare for separation. However, this story ended in a very different way, an ending that can fill our hearts with hope and promise. The group, eleven changed men, who were present on the Mount of Olives as Jesus ascended through the clouds toward heaven. Eleven changed men who were filled with joy and anticipation! Why? Jesus had taken time to be with them, showing His love and helping them to understand their commission. He shared promises with them which spelled hope and peace. He would be with them in a different way and was going to prepare a place for them so that there would be no more leaving!! John 14:1-3 Love in tight places! And He stands ready to do the same for you and for me. His plans for you are perfect…Jer. 29:11-13. He has promised to never leave nor forsake you. Heb. 13: 5. And that promise is still binding.
